3 Natural drinks to prevent skin pigmentation

Skin pigmentation natural remedies

Natural drinks to prevent skin pigmentation, really?

Well, yes and I can prove it! But first, let’s learn more about skin pigmentation.

I know, the term itself sounds scary! All you could probably think of is discolored skin patches, lots of imperfections, and very very low-self esteem. Let me tell you this: You are not alone!

Skin pigmentation is usually harmless, but sometimes it can occur due to a specific medical condition. However, the most common causes are excess melanin production and excessive exposure to harmful UV rays.

So, can you treat skin pigmentation naturally?  Yes, yes, and yes!

In this article, I list some of my granma’s natural drinks to prevent skin pigmentation ( I prefer calling them “Granma’s Magical Potions”, and once you try them, you’ll understand ;).

Honey & lemon water

You’ve probably heard that drinking lemon water and honey on an empty stomach is good for your digestion and for stubborn belly fat. BUT what you might not know is that this natural drink can help clear your skin from all the pigmentation.

You might think, why should I go through this long process when I can just apply some anti-pigmentation creams?  It sounds logical, but clear skin is never maintained from topical application of creams and products.

A healthy, glowing, and clear skin starts from the inside and this is why my wise grandma always insisted on starting her morning with this drink.

Lemon contains vitamin C, a great antioxidant. This means it will help protect your skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure. It will equally help lighten brown, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, even out your skin tone, and enhance its appearance.

Honey, on the other hand, is loaded with anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging components. So a combination of these two powerful ingredients will give any imperfect, dull tired skin an extra shot of clarity and glow.

What you will need:

  • 2 to 3 tbsps of honey
  • 1 spoon of lemon juice
  • 1 glass of water (warm is better)

Enjoy!

Milk, turmeric and honey

Yes, I’m talking about golden milk and its golden effect on the skin and overall health.

Golden milk is a combination of dairy-free milk, honey, turmeric, and a pinch of cinnamon. It’s yummy in the tummy! Trust me, you’re going to love it!  I’m personally using coconut milk, but you can also go for almond milk or cashew milk.

Why turmeric and how it can help fight skin pigmentation?

Turmeric is highly rich in antioxidants and acts as an antibiotic and antiviral agent that will help detox your body, improve your skin’s appearance, delay the aging process, and brighten skin’s dark spots and pigmentation.

How to prepare it:

  • 1 cup of warm milk
  • 1 tbsp of turmeric
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional, but gives more flavor)

Remember, consistency is key! Drink it first in the morning and watch your skin heal in no time.

Drink up green tea

Yes, plain green tea is capable of taking all your skin woes away!

Not really into tea? Well, you might just change your mind today.

Green tea is an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory agent that could help block the processes in cells that lead to over pigmentation. That’s not everything! Green tea slows down aging, unclogs pores, prevents acne, hydrates and nourishes the skin, and fights skin cancer by repairing DNA.

Besides, even the green tea leaves themselves contain ellagic acid and gallic acid, which may help improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

In brief, if you are looking for a relaxing way to improve the appearance of your skin and eliminate dark spots, there is nothing better than GREEN TEA!
