While it’s totally normal and harmless, dark knees and elbows can cause lots of embarrassment and even affect one’s self-confidence. The good news, you can always take control and fix the issue. So, yes, you got me right! It’s never too late!
However, it’s important to understand first what causes your knees and elbows to change color to be able to treat the issue properly. According to dermatologists, dark knees and elbows occur for 3 main reasons:
You won’t need any specific or special dark knees and elbows treatment nor will you need to spend a fortune on useless whitening creams or products!
You will only need 2 ingredients and I bet you have them in your kitchen!
Guess what? It’s lemon and baking Soda. Surprised? Well, you might frown and say I used that and it DIDN’T work BUT I want you to hear me out.
Lemon and baking soda can do magic, but if you are only using it once or twice, let me tell you now: It’s not going to work!
Consistency is crucial for the success of this whitening home remedy and all the other remedies I’m sharing with you in Granmasecrets.
Lemon is considered one of the best skin-lightening ingredients and that thanks to its natural bleaching properties. Lemon is highly rich in vitamin C, which promotes skin regeneration and boosts skin complexion. So adding it to baking soda can do magic!
Baking Soda is, on the other hand, a gentle, natural scrub that can be used to get rid of dead skin cells, unclog dirty skin pores, and protect the skin from potential bacterial infections, which eventually lead to lighter, clearer skin effects.
You’ll need 1 lemon and 1 tbsp of baking soda.
Grab the lemon and cut it into two halves. Then, take the baking soda and sprinkle it on top of the lemon and start rubbing it for 1 minute on your knees and elbows. Once you’re done, let it sit for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with lukewarm water.
For effective results, make sure you apply this once every two days for at least 2 weeks or even 3 to notice the results.
Remember consistency is key! So don’t give up just yet!
